About the event
Come learn art activities that are designed to help promote healing, growth, and rejuvenation as we enter into the new year. Creative Praxis is excited to welcome special guest practitioner, healer, and artist Linda Eubanks McClain, who will co-facilitate this training.Â
At Creative Praxis, we believe that art is key to healing and liberation. How can you bring art-based activities into your home, classroom, or organization? In this training, we will explore various types of art infusion, including movement, visual art, music, and storytelling. Participants will walk away with a new understanding of the role of art in healing as well as strategies for incorporating art into healing practices.Â
ABOUT CREATIVE PRAXIS' APPROACHÂ
Art is critical to any learning space, and you don't have to consider yourself an artist to bring creativity into your classroom or program. Creative expression is intimately linked to young people's sense of ownership of their learning space, as well as ability to heal and trust in that environment. In a Creative Praxis training, you will be shown fun, accessible practices ranging from poetry to crafting. You are encouraged to take these examples, workshop them, and bring them to your young people.
PRICING STRUCTURE
This training costs between $50-200 USD sliding scale based on income.
For organizations that are able to pay within or above the scale, this helps us to offer subsidized support to less-resourced groups and schools. We are intentional in our efforts to distribute resources equitably between organizations we work with, including universities, nonprofits, cooperatives, and schools to support and strengthen groups doing liberation work within learning spaces.
