Art INFUSION
INTRODUCING ART INTO LEARNING SPACES FOR HEALING AND LIBERATION
Every training and curriculum we develop hold the arts as a core component. Creative Praxis believes in the power of the arts to heal, transform, educate, organize and ultimately catalyze individual and collective liberation. Therefore, each training offered by Creative Praxis infuses different art modalities (dance, drama, spoken word, writing, singing, music, and visual arts) into the learning space. We work with organizations to incorporate the arts into their trainings, whether online or in person.
Art is critical to any learning space, and you don't have to consider yourself an artist to bring creativity into your classroom or program. Creative expression is intimately linked to young people's sense of ownership of their learning space, as well as ability to heal and trust in that environment. In a Creative Praxis training, you will be shown fun, accessible practices ranging from poetry to crafting. You are encouraged to take these examples, workshop them, and bring them to your young people.
While all Creative Praxis trainings incorporate the arts, we also offer trainings specifically focused on art infusion. Please visit the main Approaches and Trainings page to learn more, or email info@creativepraxis.org.
Art-Based Learning Rooted in Healing-Centered Practice
At Creative Praxis, we embed art into every aspect of our learning environments, offering dynamic, arts-based professional development experiences that center joy, expression, and justice. Our trainings, rooted in somatic and liberation-based frameworks, use creativity not as an add-on—but as a powerful tool for healing, connection, and transformation.
Whether you're a teacher, facilitator, or youth advocate in Philadelphia, our work invites you to explore accessible artistic modalities—visual art, poetry, movement, song, and storytelling—to deepen engagement and relationship with young people. These practices are especially impactful in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) settings, making our programs ideal for schools and organizations seeking arts-based SEL professional development with an equity lens.
Our facilitators integrate trauma-informed approaches and somatic-centered learning to support participants in building trust and confidence, even if they don't identify as artists. In this way, we help educators design spaces where students feel seen, empowered, and emotionally safe.
Beyond the integration of arts into existing curricula, we also offer standalone SEL workshops in Philadelphia designed specifically for educators, teaching artists, and service-based professionals. These workshops model techniques that can be adapted to any classroom, community group, or organizational culture.Creative Praxis believes that sustainable impact begins with embodied practice. That’s why our arts-based professional development is not only hands-on but heart-centered—giving educators the tools to regulate their own nervous systems while supporting the emotional wellbeing of their students. Through somatic-centered learning techniques and culturally responsive facilitation, we foster inclusive environments where creativity and care go hand in hand.
Whether you're new to SEL workshops in Philadelphia or seeking to deepen your practice, our trainings meet you where you are. With each session, we invite you to build a learning space rooted in liberation, expression, and collective healing.
While all Creative Praxis trainings incorporate the arts, we also offer trainings specifically focused on art infusion. Please visit the main Approaches and Trainings page to learn more, or email info@creativepraxis.org.
